That being said, you shouldn't really do that, because it's not such a great idea. Instead, use it once, MAAAAAYBE twice, and stop at that point. I find that storing my used oil (once it's at room temperature) in the bottle from whence it came works just fine. If you don't use as much oil as I do in cooking, feel free to leave it in the fridge to avoid having it go south on you. It should be fine for a couple of months easily.

TofuMom: The curry leaves pretty much only grow in tropical climates. Down here in Florida, it's warm (did I say warm? I meant HOT!) year round, and it rains pretty frequently. In addition to that, Steve is an avid coffee drinker. The leaves couldn't be happier!

That being said, I have seen people grow the stuff in a pot quite successfully. Just make sure the pot is rather large--the leaves like to send out some pretty hefty root systems.Dinohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12012498879329379828noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4093476615153423637.post-31411289618417235162007-08-27T02:26:00.000-04:002007-08-27T02:26:00.000-04:00Just a quick question....I've recently been trying...Just a quick question....I've recently been trying out deep frying (making falafels), how do I store the oil? How many times should you reuse it?
Love the site!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4093476615153423637.post-76079911660041454282007-08-26T04:03:00.000-04:002007-08-26T04:03:00.000-04:00Oh cool! I had always assumed they were the same "curry leaves" I'd seen in recipes but wasn't positive. Thanks for the great pictures!Evidently the plants don't grow around here so well which is unfortunate - I'd love to have a hedge of curry. OHMYGAWD think about it... a wall of curry.. the whole "bathing in oil" comment amused and sidetracked me - heehee.Tofu Mom (AKA Tofu-n-Sprouts)https://www.blogger.com/profile/16536769929670412138noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4093476615153423637.post-91887572931891609812007-08-25T21:19:00.000-04:002007-08-25T21:19:00.000-04:00They were so lovely to eat!
